Went to a drive-in

I'm not really a big movie fan but there's something fun about a drive-in.  And yesterday, EDP decided he wanted to see a movie so I countered with the drive-in (which was showing the movie he wanted to see) and we hopped in the car with the dog and took off to the Mustang Drive-in.  We made it pretty much just in time and the place was packed!  We didn't get a great spot but that wasn't a big surprise given how late we showed up.  Penny settled down fairly quickly for a nap and EDP & I watched our movie.  The movie was okay but I'm not really sure I entirely followed it.  And for some reason, the car behind us kept turning it's lights on, which was pretty annoying.

Anyway, in summary, I've prepared this pros & cons list about going to a drive-in. You'll see there are more pros than cons so maybe I'll go again.

Pets are welcome
You can talk and no one gets mad
You control the volume
It's okay to take a blanket
No one steals your armrest
There are snacks involved

There's never an afternoon show
There are other people there

Twinkle, Twinkle Diamond Ring

So my fellow April babies will likely agree - having diamonds as your birthstone often sucks. A - they are expensive. B - most birthstone rings look like engagement rings. C - they are expensive. But also, they are lovely. I've wanted a ring with my birthstone for a long time. But given their tendency to look like engagement rings or wedding bands, I couldn't really expect anyone to get one for me. So a long time ago, I decided that I would buy myself a diamond ring. And just to make it extra spectacular, it would be from Tiffany & Co. A few years ago, I decided it would be my 30th birthday present to myself. And I just turned 30. And now, I have a diamond ring from Tiffany's. And it's fabulous. It's sparkly and shiny and perfect. And of course, since it's from Tiffany's, the only C I had to compromise on to stay in my budget was carat.

April 2012 Recap

Yay for April!  This month, I got two Things done - I finished taking a picture of something that made me happy every day for a month and I joined a community garden.  I also made really good progress on graduating - I could probably cross it off the list now but I'm waiting for the official "recommended to graduate" note to appear on my transcript.

Other things I made progress on:

So what's up for May?  The most exciting thing will be going to Tiffany's to buy my ring for my 30th birthday.  This is definitely going to be one of the high points of my 101 Things so I'm pretty excited.  Beyond that, I'm going to probably go through my list and make sure everything still makes sense because I'm now over a year into this project.  I need to also get back on track with making progress on some of my ongoing things.  We'll see how that goes.
